Abstract	Johnnie/Johnny "Mike" Hauer was a sought-after musician in the La Crosse, Wisconsin, area, performing primarily on drums. This is a live performance photo of Hauer from February 28, 1962, when he performed with the Bob Allen Trio at the Heart Fund benefit at the Vocational School Auditorium.
Abstract	This photo was a part of a scrapbook that Evadine "Evie" Ratajczek created of local rock and roll bands and entertainers who performed in the La Crosse, Wisconsin, area, many of whom were connected to Lindy Shannon.
Abstract	In Ratajczek's handwriting on the backside it says: "Leo Breidel - Johnny Hauer - Bob [Allen] - Ed Cree ('White Lightnin') - Feb. 1962."
Abstract	In November 1968, Lindy Shannon wrote in his "On and Off The Record" column for the La Crosse Tribune, "Whenever people talk about the all-time great drummers from this area, Johnny's always included, and rightfully so. He's a young veteran in this business, and it all started back with the 'Fendermen' and 'Mule Skinner Blues.' Remember?"
